We are so blessed to have such a tribe around us to protect us and share our lives with. We have my family who reside mostly in New York, Randy’s family who resides all over the country and our friends who have become our second family.
My family all live within minutes of each other. My brother lives basically behind my mother’s house. My other brother lives down the street and my cousins, aunts and uncles (who total well over 100) are all within 30 minutes of each other. These are the people we can always count on for laughs or help of any kind. My family is my rock and has become the rock of our family as well.
Randy’s family is spread all over; Chicago, Detroit and Seattle. They are a fun group of people, there is no other way to say it. They are always playing cards or organizing some sort of sports activity outside. Because they all live so far from each other we don’t see them as often as we like but no matter what we take one BIG family vacation each year where all 16 of us visit and make memories.
When you live far from your family, your friends become your second family. Our friends in Denver are very dear to us; they come to NJ to visit us every summer and we go out there usually in the winter to visit them. They are like unofficial Godparents to our children. Once we moved to NJ I was put in a playgroup with 4 other women and we all had babies together. These families have become our family and our children are like siblings. We even share birthday parties with them!
